Real Estate Revamp with Nikolina Stevens

🎙️ Real Estate Revamp | Featuring Nikolina Stevens (Interior Designer & Senior Property Stylist – Mono)

Our special guest on this week’s episode of Real Estate Revamp is Nikolina Stevens, Interior Designer, Senior Property Stylist, and founder of Mono.

Nikolina’s passion for design started early, spending time on building sites with her father and developing an interest in architecture and construction. After completing a Bachelor of Interior Design and Architecture, she quickly realised that sitting behind a computer drafting designs wasn’t where she wanted her career to go.

That decision eventually led her into property styling, where she found the perfect combination of creativity, interiors, construction, and real estate. After working within other design businesses, Nikolina launched Mono to create greater freedom, build her own aesthetic, and offer a more complete service to agents and vendors.

In this episode, Nikolina breaks down the real value of property styling and why presentation plays such a major role in creating emotional connection with buyers. She discusses how styling can completely change the way a property performs online and in person, particularly when market conditions become more challenging.

The conversation also explores Mono’s “one-stop shop” approach, including painting, carpeting, repairs, trade coordination, furniture installation, and preparing homes to become genuinely move-in ready.

Nikolina shares the rooms she believes matter most when preparing a property for sale, why decluttering and depersonalising are essential, and some of the biggest mistakes sellers make when trying to cut corners before going to market.

She also opens up about the importance of strong relationships with real estate agents, why referrals drive so much of her business, and how becoming an extension of an agent’s team helps create better outcomes for everyone involved.

The episode also looks at AI, virtual staging, and the future of property styling. Nikolina explains why she believes physical styling and human connection will remain essential, while also exploring how AI could help with inventory management, spatial planning, and mood boards behind the scenes.

If you’re a real estate professional, property stylist, interior designer, or homeowner preparing to sell, this episode offers practical insights into how great presentation can transform the way a property is experienced.
